Electric Pickup Export to the Caribbean and Pacific Islands

Island markets buy in ones and twos, not in containers of twenty, and every exporter that insists on a ten-unit minimum order quantity is invisible to them. We quote from a single unit for this region, consolidated into shared containers where the destination allows.

Homologation, duty and operating notes

The questions importers in this region actually ask, answered directly.

Can I order fewer than ten vehicles?

Yes. One unit is a valid order for island destinations. A single vehicle ships in a 20-foot container or as part of a shared 40HQ with another buyer's unit; two units fill a 40HQ efficiently. Ro-Ro is available where a destination is on a regular car-carrier rotation, which in the Caribbean mostly means Kingston, Port of Spain and Santo Domingo.

Which steering does each island take?

Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, Fiji and Papua New Guinea are right-hand drive and take the three RHD specifications. The Dominican Republic, Curaçao, Aruba and Suriname are left-hand drive. Getting this wrong is the single most expensive mistake in island-market importing, because the unit cannot be registered and cannot economically be returned.

How do these vehicles handle salt-air corrosion?

The T90 EV uses double-sided galvanised panel across the body, which is the relevant protection for coastal duty. For any island order we recommend containerised shipping over Ro-Ro — a Ro-Ro deck exposes the vehicle to salt spray for the whole transit, and a 30-day Pacific crossing is long enough for that to show.

Does island range anxiety apply here?

Rarely. Most island duty cycles are under 100 km a day against 330–430 km of WLTP range, so a vehicle charges overnight and never approaches its limit. Island electricity is expensive, which cuts the running-cost advantage against diesel, but solar-plus-storage depot charging closes that gap and is common on Caribbean commercial premises.

Which models can be registered in Caribbean & Pacific Islands?

Steering convention: Mixed — RHD in Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, Guyana, Fiji and PNG; LHD in the Dominican Republic, Curaçao and Suriname. The specifications below match it — ordering the wrong steering is the single most expensive mistake in vehicle importing, because the unit cannot be registered and cannot economically be returned.
